Garden District Band - update from: David W. Hansen 03/30/2020
Hey Global Community – we care about you and hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and well.
As we all know, there’s uncertainty and disruption related to the coronavirus (COVID-19). From a musical perspective, for us, all our “live-in-person” performances are on hold …except broadcasts from home! Our highest priority is to get through this challenging time and bring a positive, uplifting message-performance to anyone choosing to tune in.
As news and information about the coronavirus are updated, we sincerely wish for everyone to stay well …this includes having a positive attitude (which can be tough to implement everyday) …I know, I’ve already had a few very tough days. A good night’s rest seems to really help when starting a “new” day.
For years (over 14 actually), I have heard guests, fans, friends and visitors hearing my Garden District Band (trio) at Houston’s make a very similar comment to me: “you brush off the dust of our daily lives,” “you are always so positive, smiling and happy. It’s so obvious, you love what you do. Just watching you perform makes my day,” “your music is uplifting and washes away tough and difficult days.”
…with that said, I have set up a home studio with multiple cameras, great microphones and my smiling face behind the drums. I’m not a comedian or a commentator, so I’ll try to keep the performance going. …hopefully with tracks or music, but also just solo drums.
I will attempt to do this daily at varying times, but most likely 6:00pm to 8:00pm (Central Standard Time). If I can’t make these times, I’ll try to plug in two hours or more at some point during the day.
This will be pushed out to my Facebook “Live” feed located at (https://www.facebook.com/HansenDrums) …please “like” the page and hopefully you will receive notifications and updates. After, I will try to save and upload to my YouTube channel located at NewOrleansBands (please “like” or “subscribe” as well).
Thanks! Please stay well and be safe.
